Resident District Manager
Sodexo is seeking a Resident District Manager to oversee day-to-day Food Service Operations at the University of Illinois Chicago. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, talent management, and communication skills.
About the role
Lead multiple accounts within a dynamic region, championing operational excellence, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring high client and guest satisfaction. Mentor and empower on-site teams, build client relationships, and shape business success across a diverse portfolio.
Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying resources, including performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions. Results are achieved through team leadership, influence, and negotiation. Progression reflects growth in technical expertise, business knowledge, and leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Guide district-wide strategies to boost performance, drive growth, and enhance customer experience
- Build trusted partnerships with clients to strengthen retention and deliver long-term value
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering engagement and accountability
- Own financial results, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving P&L outcomes
- Collaborate with senior leaders to influence enterprise-wide priorities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of operations with daily challenges and opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of related experience
- Success in managing complex, multi-site operations with strong financial acumen
- Track record of delivering results against P&L goals
- Ability to lead through influence, guiding frontline and senior leaders
- Strategic mindset to identify growth opportunities and drive innovation
- Exceptional relationship-building skills for client and cross-functional collaboration
- Commitment to talent development, succession planning, and team engagement
Pay
Annual salary range: $127,585 – $165,110. Eligible to participate in Sodexo’s incentive plan for variable compensation in addition to base salary.
