About the role
We are seeking a Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) Specialist who is dedicated, compassionate, and ready to make a difference in our community. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for someone with experience in senior care.
Primary Care Duties
- Perform audits to dispose of expired medications, identify refills, and ensure pharmacy follow-through. Report findings to the Director of Resident Care (DRC) or designee.
- Orient and train new RCCs, RMAs, and RAs through mentoring and demonstration.
- Provide guidance to RMAs and RAs, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Assist with electronic medical records (EMR) training, order verification, and onboarding of new employees.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor responses, and adhere to infection control policies.
- Confer with residents' physicians regarding medication administration concerns.
- Maintain daily resident records, documenting medication distribution, health observations, and any changes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medication supply room.
- Provide direct resident care following the Resident Assistant Job Description.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and resident requests, ensuring safety and support.
- Encourage teamwork through positive interactions with co-workers.
Secondary Care Duties
- Assist the DRC in ensuring adequate staffing and covering scheduling gaps.
- Cook up assignments for RAs and RMAs, and manage daily staffing sheets.
- Coordinate assignments for RAs and RMAs, and manage daily staffing sheets.
- Help create staffing schedules and communicate changes using the designated tool.
- Address staffing concerns related to PTO, call outs, and tardiness.
- Aid in developing service plans and assessments.
- Ensure shift reports are documented and communicated effectively.
- Aid in ensuring supplies are stocked and ready, completing inventory for re-orders.
- Aid in training and support of customer service, resolving concerns and requests.
- Take on additional assignments as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of prior resident care experience in a senior living community.
- Delegated by a Registered Nurse for medication administration or Certified Medication Aide.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight at communities.
