Resident Care Associate

About the Role

The Resident Care Associate is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services to a consistent group of residents and their families in assisted living and Memory care neighborhoods. This role includes hands-on care, physical and emotional support as outlined in each resident’s Personalized Service Plan (PSP), while maintaining a safe, comfortable home-like environment. The Resident Care Associate demonstrates all elements of wellness and adheres to federal, state, and local standards and regulations.

Schedule

Full Time, Monday–Friday with every other weekend required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development and updates of Personalized Service Plans; attends service plan review meetings with families as requested.
• Ensures the hydration schedule for residents is maintained during the shift.
• Completes resident meal attendance sheets and ensures any resident not dining in the dining room receives room service or is accounted for.
• Knows and complies with all resident rights.
• Initiates, assigns, and assists with activities as appropriate.
• Checks assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, continence issues, and changes in condition.
• Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
• Inspects assigned resident rooms daily for cleanliness and neatness; ensures high-risk rooms are double-checked.
• Assists with maintaining cleanliness in laundry rooms, common areas (including bathrooms), and checks for exposed hazardous chemicals; takes appropriate action (e.g., contacting housekeeping, cleaning, securing chemicals).
• Completes all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for assigned residents according to their Personalized Service Plan (PSP).
• Responds promptly to security systems and resident call bells; takes appropriate action, including resetting call bells.

Requirements

• High school education preferred and may be required by the state.
• Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to perform personal care aspects of the role.
• Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living industry, Dementia care, or Skilled Nursing preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours to meet peak service delivery times.
