Overview

Elderwood, committed to People Caring for People, seeks supportive and nurturing Resident Care Aide/Home Health Aide (HHA) to join their clinical team. Positions are available full-time or part-time, 7:00am-3:00pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm, with all shifts including weekend rotations. PCA or CNA positions are also considered.

Position Overview

RCA/HHA team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of residents by providing personal care support. This role involves meeting the physical and emotional needs of residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, maintaining high-quality resident care standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Daily Living Activities as needed, including meal assistance, grooming, medication management, showering, dressing/undressing, toileting, and skin care.
  • Use hands, arms, and fingers in repeated motions, including grasping and turning motions.
  • Maintain facility standards for resident care.
  • Assists with service in the dining room for all meals as needed.
  • Notifies Supervisor of changes in residents' conditions or needs.
  • Documents duties performed as necessary before breaks or end of shifts.
  • Observes and practices confidentiality of resident information and privacy.
  • Attends facility meetings, staff meetings, and required or preferred in-services.
  • Generates and develops ideas to improve care quality and productivity.
  • Performs all duties according to safety rules and practices.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service towards residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Responds flexibly to changing situations to meet current needs.

Qualifications

  • Eighteen (18) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certification by an approved basic training program in home health aide services approved by the Department of Health and possession of written evidence of such certification.
  • Maintain current annual skills testing approval.
  • Ability to assist residents with all aspects of Daily Living Activities including bathing, toileting, and transferring.
  • Occasional 2-person lift up to 120 pounds.
  • Regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors required.
