Resident Care Aide

About the role

The Ivy at Ellington is seeking a Resident Care Aide (RCA) who cares deeply about seniors, enjoys spending time with them, and takes pride in delivering high-quality care. This role requires patience, compassion, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services professionally and compassionately
• Document care accurately and completely
• Review and prepare shift change logs; communicate key information to incoming staff
• Alert licensed nurses to changes in resident condition or needs
• Respond appropriately to emergency call systems
• Follow proper procedures for Self-Administered Medication Management
• Assess resident capabilities and provide assistance as needed
• Support dining, housekeeping, and activity programs
• Aid relatives, guests, and visitors, creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Maintain a calm, professional, and positive environment
• Take a team approach, support coworkers, and collaborate effectively

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification OR completion of a Certified Home Health Aide program
• Understanding of the physical and emotional needs of seniors
• Patience, compassion, and respect for all residents
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a committed, united team
• Dependable, professional, and willing to take ownership of duties
