Resident Associate, Assisted Living

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this job position is to assist each resident with activities of daily living that the resident is unable to perform without help, always fostering the resident’s independence and freedom of choice in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by the supervisor or nurse.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Become familiar with resident daily needs, likes, dislikes, etc. to provide personalized care given to each individual.
• Review Care plans daily to monitor resident’s health and keep up to date on care changes.
• Document data including behaviors, bathing, and other activities of daily living. Report concerns and changes to Charge nurse.
• Participate to maintain the physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to the resident’s welfare and best interests.
• Auxiliary with resident cares including but not limited to dressing/undressing, bathing, nail care, dental hygiene, and hair care.
• Respond to call lights in a timely manner.
• Maintain resident beds and change linens as assigned.
• Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Help encourage and restore independence through encouragement in ADL skills.
• Perform day-to-day laundry functions as assigned.
• Auxiliary with residents’ moving in/out, packing/unpacking, and preparation for activities.
• Auxiliary with residents’ walking, meal service, and medical appointments.
• Lead and participate in resident-centered activities.
• Wash wheelchairs, walkers, and all resident care equipment as instructed.
• Clean residents’ rooms, including bathrooms and kitchens.
• Maintain and clean public areas within the facility.
• Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Shift

- 7am-3pm
- Part-Time
- Weekend and holiday rotation required

Pay and Benefits

Starting Pay: $15.40/hour; wage dependent on experience
