Resident Assistant (RA)

About the Role

The Assisted Living (AL) Resident/Tenant Assistant provides nursing and personal care to residents under the supervision of the Wellness Director, ensuring their health, safety, and welfare in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, restorative nursing procedures, and retraining.
• Report and record changes in resident conditions (e.g., eating habits, behavior, temperature).
• Ensure the well-being and nursing care of all assigned residents while on duty.
• Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living areas, including beds, dressers, bathrooms, and general spaces.
• Keep work areas free of hazards (e.g., spills, excess laundry, improperly stored equipment).
• Follow individual Service Plans and facility policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and respect personal/property rights.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in critical situations.
• Free from communicable diseases/Tuberculosis.
• Proof of CPR certification or willingness to obtain it before working independently.
• Tactful communication with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies.
• Willingness to collaborate with professional and non-professional staff.
• Ability to maintain supplies, equipment, and resident care areas for sanitation, safety, and order.
