Resident Assistant part Time 1st Shift (Raybrook Manor)

About the Role

The Resident Assistant provides direct, hands-on support to residents by assisting with activities of daily living and promoting comfort, safety, and emotional well-being. Working closely with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary care team, the Resident Assistant helps create a respectful, supportive environment that enhances each resident’s quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and feeding
• Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to residents
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, cognitive, or emotional condition
• Encourage independence while ensuring resident safety and dignity
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, high-quality care

Requirements

• Prior experience in resident care or a healthcare setting preferred
• Memory care experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Strong communication and observation skills
• Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time
