Resident Assistant, Full-Time

About the role

The FT Resident Assistant, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services supports ACTS' programs that help neighbors in crisis. This position is essential, involves client contact, and requires flexibility in the schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and comfort of shelter residents
• Provide support and trauma-informed care to domestic violence and sexual assault victims
• Answer the crisis hotline and assess high danger calls
• Maintain case management system and client records
• Attend staff meetings and supervision meetings
• Manage daily shelter activities and enforce house rules
• Conduct room and house checks, prepare facilities, and organize donations
• Orient new residents, assist with daily needs, and plan meals
• Report maintenance issues and complete required training

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience with domestic violence and sexual assault victims, complex trauma services, or homelessness preferred
• Coursework in human service fields (trauma, counseling, social work) preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/sit for long periods

Skills

• Bilingual capability (English and Spanish, French or Arabic) preferred

Pay

$19.16/hour, with additional pay for bilingual capability and graduate degree.

Schedule

37.5 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12.5 hours each; 7:30 a.m./p.m. to 8 p.m./a.m., plus occasional extra shifts.

Essential Functions

• Remain on-premises and available to clients for the entire shift
