Resident Assistant / Care Specialist Full-Time 3rd Shift
About the role
In this role, you will perform a variety of services and tasks necessary to maintain and support residents in their activities of daily living including personal cares, delegated nursing functions, social interactions/activities, and homemaking. You’ll work closely with nursing staff and other team members to ensure the comfort and safety of our residents in a home-like environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL’s) and personal care needs including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, positioning, transferring and mobility
- Provide nursing services in accordance to each resident’s plan of care including assistance with medications, skin care, range of motion, maintenance therapy, respiratory assistance, assistance with prosthetic and orthotics, necessary observation and monitoring, wound care, and other treatments
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and follow facility protocols
- Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being and report any changes to nursing staff
- Assist with mealtime setup, service and clean up while ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration
- Encourage and assist with participation in recreational and social activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
- Respond promptly to resident calls and needs in a courteous and respectful manner
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- State certification required depending on work location (Wisconsin - CBRF (all 4 courses))
- Caregiver must be compassionate, patient, and reliable with strong communication skills
- Must understand, respect, and maintain resident confidentiality
- Must be able to lift, move, and assist residents safely and comfortably
- Must pass required criminal background check in order to serve vulnerable adults
- Must be screened TB and other state-required health care conditions
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Indoors, climate-controlled assisted living facility with a focus on personalized care Requires physical activity including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents Possible exposure to unpleasant odors. Possible exposure to chemicals as indicated in the MSDS manual. Continuous exposure to clients and/or family members who may be under stress. This job is considered “safety-sensitive”, which is defined as “any job that includes tasks or duties that the employer reasonably believes could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others”.

Schedule
Negotiable, but typically includes standard weekday hours with some flexibility for evening and weekend shifts.
