Resident Assistant Responsibilities
- Supervise shelter residents and ensure compliance with program policies while providing guidance and support.
- Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and supportive counseling as needed.
- Welcome new families, complete intakes, and assist with meeting immediate basic needs.
- Support Case Managers by encouraging residents' progress toward individual service plans and independent living goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, HMIS data entry, shift logs, and other required records.
- Complete daily operational tasks, answer phones, provide referrals, and communicate maintenance or safety concerns.
- Monitor facility safety systems, maintain house operations, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings, assist with training new employees, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Up to two years of experience in human services.
- A related associate's degree with one year of experience preferred.
- Prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred.
- Knowledge of social service resources in the local community.
- Experience working in an office environment with clerical skills including phone etiquette, filing, computer skills, and the ability to manage several tasks and projects.
