Maintain the Safety and Security of All Residents
- Maintain safety and security through staff-specific posts, security rounds, enforcing facility rules, and communicating incidents to supervisory personnel.
- Respond to client emergencies, including physical or verbal altercations, and manage medical emergencies.
- Ensure access control, fire patrols, surveillance, and compliance with government regulations.
- Generate reports and maintain logs related to client arrivals, departures, and vehicle usage.
Operational Procedures and Client Support
- Control and distribute client supplies, including meal distribution.
- Prepare, heat, and serve nutritious meals while ensuring compliance with health regulations and safety codes.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area and service/preparation areas.
- Receive and store food deliveries, and maintain cleanliness of food storage areas.
- Attend and participate in training sessions for food service staff.
New Client Registration and Orientation
- Register new clients and orient them to the facility.
- Ensure completion and distribution of all mandated documentation.
- Facilitate vacancy control by liaising with funding agencies for referrals outside of business hours.
Facility Management and Client Supervision
- Perform hourly facility runs to monitor resident areas, recreational rooms, laundry rooms, and cafeteria.
- Conduct daily inspections of resident units.
- Aid in medication calls and assist with property removal for AWOL residents.
- Escort clients to appointments and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid NYC DOHMH Food Protection Certificate or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience working with homeless or special needs populations.
- Excellent communication skills.
