About the Role

The Residence Program Specialist plays a crucial role in the care and development of the people we support in residential facilities. They ensure safety, assist with personal development, and foster a homelike atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care and assists with personal development and independence of the people we support.
  • Maintains safety and well-being measures.
  • Trains people we support in activities of daily living and self-help skills.
  • Maintains a homelike atmosphere.
  • Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Prepares and submits written reports.
  • Responds to crisis situations and medical emergencies.
  • Administers appropriate first aid and dispenses medications.
  • Performs housekeeping, cooking, laundry, and maintenance tasks.
  • Supports personal hygiene needs.
  • Handles personal documents securely.
  • Completes skill-building activities as outlined in individual program plans.

Qualifications

  • Valid New York State Driver’s License and maintains it in good standing.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills for interacting with co-workers, employees, residents, and their families.
  • Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six months of related experience preferred but not required.
  • Salaried employees must be approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) at time of hire or within six months of date of hire in salaried status.

Compensation

$19.06/hour (after probation) + Industry-Leading Benefits for all full-time employees.
