About the Role
The Residence Program Specialist plays a crucial role in the care and development of the people we support in residential facilities. They ensure safety and well-being, provide training, and foster a homelike atmosphere. They also attend meetings, prepare reports, respond to crises, and assist with various tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provides care and assists with personal development and independence of the people we support.
- Maintains safety and well-being measures.
- Trains people we support in activities of daily living and self-help skills.
- Maintains a homelike atmosphere.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Prepares and submits incident reports, progress notes, and other reports.
- Responds to crisis situations and medical emergencies.
- Administers appropriate first aid and follows emergency protocols.
- Dispenses prescribed medications after completing the medication administration course.
- Completes skill-building activities as outlined in individual program plans.
- Supports personal hygiene needs.
- Maintains a secure and confidential environment for personal documents.
- Performs related duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Driver’s License and maintains it in good standing.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting with co-workers, employees, residents, and their families.
- Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective measures.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six months of related experience preferred but not required.
- Salaried employees must be approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) at time of hire or within six months of date of hire in salaried status.
Compensation
$18.80 - $20.17/hour (after probation) + Industry-Leading Benefits for all full-time employees.
