Reserve Teller

Job Summary

The Reserve Teller is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing various teller transactions, balancing daily transactions, and maintaining security for assigned cash and transaction documentation.

Essential Duties

• Process various teller transactions such as deposits, cash checks, cash withdrawals, cash advances, Bank Card payments, loan payments, safe deposit payments, issuance and negotiation of monetary instruments, and Savings Bonds redemption.
• Receive checks and cash for deposits, examine checks for negotiability and proper endorsements, verify customer and account information, and prepare and verify monetary instruments.
• Identify transactions with potential fraud or suspected Elder Abuse and notify Branch Management.
• Review customers' accounts and answer basic questions pertaining to account activity.
• Count currency, coins, and checks received by hand or using currency-counting machine and prepare them for deposit or shipment.
• Maintain accurate transactional journals by correctly listing all incoming and outgoing cash by denomination, utilizing proper transaction functions.
• Enter customer transactions into computers to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts.
• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at end of shift, calculating daily transactions using computer, calculator machines, and transactional journals, ensuring accuracy in accordance with teller procedures.
• Identify transaction mistakes when debits or credits do not balance and arrange monies received in cash boxes and coin dispensers according to denomination.
• Explain, promote, or sell consumer products or services.
• Adhere to cash pay limits.
• Comply with federal, state, and internal regulations.
• Comply with Bank security guidelines and procedures.
• Teller Levels & Classifications: The teller position has multiple levels, each defined in the Teller Classifications document. Additional essential duties and required knowledge and skills for each level are included in the document.
• Complies with all State and Federal Banking regulatory requirements, including but not limited to: BSA, Anti-Money Laundering OFAC, CIP, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, Sexual Harassment, Information Security, and privacy requirements. Elevates suspicious activity to supervisory staff and/or BSA department.
• Completes compliance and other technical training workshops as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Preferred candidate will have 6 months or more teller experience within the past three years

Additional Requirements

• Professional business attire
• Must travel to various bank locations
• Some Saturday hours are required
