Research Technologist, Senior
Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute (LBRI) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Senior Research Technologist with a background in Bioanalytical Chemistry. The position will support bioanalytical method development, method validation, and application of Mass Spectrometry bioanalytical assays to sample analysis within the Scientific Core Laboratories.
About the role
This role involves working in multi-disciplinary scientific teams to develop and characterize bioanalytical methods and conduct bioanalytical sample analysis. You will process and analyze samples using Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) coupled with triple quad mass spectrometry.
Responsibilities
- Support bioanalytical method development and validation.
- Apply Mass Spectrometry bioanalytical assays to sample analysis.
- Work in a wet laboratory environment to process and analyze samples.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific area, preferably chemistry, and 4 years of directly-related research experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB).
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a wet laboratory environment.
- Operate standard laboratory equipment.
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, perform lab- and desk-based computer tasks.
- Perform laboratory techniques requiring grasping, pipetting, and hand dexterity.
- Perform repetitive motions and occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Wear personal protective equipment, which may include a respirator.
- May work in close proximity to research animals and environments containing hazardous materials and/or infectious agents, which may require vaccinations.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience, plus a $500 sign-on bonus.
