Job Description
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences, and the laboratory of Dr. Amy Arnold, located in Hershey PA, is seeking a full-time Research Technologist 1. The primary focus of the lab is to understand how hormones interact with the brain to regulate blood pressure and energy balance in mouse models of diseases like hypertension and obesity.
Position Requirements
- Managing inventory and ordering of supplies and animals
- Care for laboratory animals
- Conduct molecular assays and experiments to assess blood pressure and metabolic function
- Compile and analyze data
- Willingness to learn new techniques
- Responsibility, self-motivation, good communication, and strong organizational skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google documents)
- Experience with rodents and experimental data collection and analysis is preferred but not required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a biological or biomedical science field
- 1+ years related experience

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with the possibility of extension.
