Overview
The Research Technician III role supports scientific research by performing bench-level experiments, operating analytical instruments, and analyzing data. This position works closely with members of the laboratory of Dr. Taran Gujral in the Division of Human Biology, located at the Seattle South Lake Union campus. It provides an enriching environment to learn about cell biology and the drug discovery process.
Responsibilities
- Culture and maintain a collection of cancer cell lines
- Prepare samples and carry out biochemical and PCR-based assays
- Perform drug efficacy studies in mice
- Prepare tissue sections for histology work
- Analyze data from assays using various software packages
- Work both independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and work experience).
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related scientific field preferred. Prior experience with small animal handling is required. Experience working with cancer mouse models is preferred. Experience with tissue culture and standard molecular biological techniques (DNA and RNA extraction), protein isolation and analysis (gel electrophoresis, immunoblotting, etc.), and microbiology techniques preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $104,250, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
