About the role
The Research Technician I under close supervision of Principal Investigator conducts a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols. These experiments aim to investigate the role of the human microbiome in bacterial pathogen behavior during colonization and adaptation to the host. Duties include designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, managing and collecting clinical samples, assisting in lab operations, recording test results, presenting findings, and monitoring animal colonies.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments and analyze data
- Manage and collect clinical samples
- Auxiliary in running daily lab operations such as coordinating lab meetings, stocking supplies, ensuring lab safety, and maintaining lab culture collections
- Record test results and present work in oral and written formats
- Assist with monitoring animal colonies when necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field
