Research Technician Assistant I
About the role
We are seeking a Research Technician Assistant for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, Nevada.
As a Research Technician Assistant, you will have the opportunity to care for different species of animals at our state-of-the-art safety sites. You will learn new skills ranging from animal care and handling of laboratory animals, performing clinical observations, blood collection, drug dosing, and performing accurate data collection and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Handle common laboratory animal species.
- Perform clinical observations.
- Collect blood samples.
- Administer drug dosing.
- Accurately collect and report data.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
- 0-6 months related experience in animal research and/or husbandry preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice regulations preferred.
Training and Development
The training and development offered to our entry-level technicians is state-of-the-art and designed to help you succeed. The work you will be doing will impact the lives of patients and animals across the world and is the kind of work that is truly rewarding.
Training schedule: 6 months, Monday- Friday from 7:00am PT until 4:00pm PT. After you complete training, you will be assigned to work either Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday – Thursday. This is a full-time opportunity.

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.

Pay
The pay for this position is $22.00 USD per hour. Training schedule is M-F, 7 am – 4 pm daily (6 mos). After training, permanent schedule is either Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs, 7-4 daily.
