Research Technician 2-Pharmacology

Responsibilities

• Performs complex molecular biology procedures, including DNA and RNA extractions, Oxford Nanopore DNA sequencing (focusing on CpG methylation and direct RNA), and library preparation for single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq).
• Performs brain dissections and tissue collection (nucleus accumbens, prefrontal cortex, and amygdala) to support multi-omics studies.
• Manages the record-keeping and documentation.
• Manages the rodent breeding colony.
• Performs general laboratory maintenance.
• Orders supplies.
• Ensures the integrity of experimental data through meticulous adherence to protocols and detailed documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, or a related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
• EXPERIENCE: OR a combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.
• Knowledge in molecular technology and genomic protocols.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for record keeping.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
