Job Summary
The Research Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting litigation and market research projects by ensuring the accuracy, quality, and presentation of client-facing deliverables. This position is responsible for proofreading, formatting, and finalizing complex documents, while also providing administrative and operational support to the research team.
This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days of in-office work.
Requirements
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Document Preparation & Quality Assurance
- Prepare, proofread, and format reports, presentations, exhibits, and related materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Review content for grammar, formatting, and substantive accuracy, ensuring all deliverables meet professional and litigation-ready standards.
- Verify citations, footnotes, and cross-references for completeness and accuracy across all materials.
- Apply advanced formatting techniques to complex documents, including use of styles, numbering, tables of contents, and tracked revisions.
- Research Support
- Conduct background research on survey methodologies, litigation-related topics, and other subject matter to support client deliverables.
- Aid team members in compiling and organizing research materials for projects.
- Project & Team Support
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and document quality.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide administrative support to the research team, including calendar coordination, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.
- Support office operations such as coordinating shipments, managing supplies, liaising with vendors, and assisting with facilities-related needs.
- Cook up meetings and events, including scheduling, logistics, materials preparation, and on-site support.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in a legal, professional services, or research environment
- Demonstrated experience working with complex, document-heavy deliverables
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 particularly Word with advanced formatting of long documents (styles, footnotes, tables of contents, line numbering, track changes); Excel using structured data formatting and table creation; and PowerPoint with production of polished, client-ready presentations
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong proofreading and editing capabilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Working with legal or litigation-related documents
- Familiarity with citations, footnotes, and legal-style cross-referencing
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Experience providing administrative or operational support within a team setting
LOCATION
This position is hybrid and supports east to west coast time zones
