This position plays a key role in supporting trials conducted at the Clinical Trials Statistical and Data Management Center (CTSDMC) in the Department of Biostatistics. It provides administrative support to various CTSDMC functions, including grant submissions, faculty biosketches, and research operations activities.
Responsibilities
- Grant Exploration and Development:
- Assist in the development and coordination of CTSDMC grant proposals
- Prepare grant application packages using appropriate formats (e.g., Cayuse) and ensure timely completion
- Prepare proposal routing forms for approval
- Manage biosketches and other support pages for CTSDMC-associated faculty
- Post-Award Administration/Financial Responsibility:
- Prepare administrative portions of grant progress reports and monitor for completeness
- Initiate and/or monitor subcontracts or Professional Service Agreements (PSAs) for funded projects
- Liaise with University Shared Services on initiating and updating Purchase Orders for CTSDMC expenditures
- Work with external vendors to secure products, licenses, and services
- Compliance:
- Monitor compliance with contract/grant terms and federal guidelines
- Track deadlines and ensure deliverables are met
- Operational/Administrative Support:
- Organize project-related meetings and events, including scheduling and calendar coordination
- Attend meetings and take minutes as needed
- Coordinate project-related travel for CTSDMC leadership and staff
- Provide administrative support within funded projects, including managing committees, tracking publications, and preparing reports
- Initiate routine financial transactions and purchases
- External Communications and Negotiations:
- Respond to general inquiries from internal colleagues, external partners, sponsors, and funding agencies
- Assist in the development and maintenance of public-facing websites for CTSDMC, ensuring accessibility compliance
- Leadership/Supervision:
- Provide functional supervision over other administrative staff and/or student employees
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, orderly documents
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in processing information
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Highly Desirable:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Desirable:
- Experience delivering excellent service in a customer-driven environment
- Experience working in a team toward a common goal
- Experience in pre-award grant preparation for federal and/or private sponsors
- Working knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations
