Research Study Technician- Animal Operations

About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join our team in Madison, WI. In this role, you’ll apply your scientific curiosity to research the effectiveness, safety, and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies.

Responsibilities

• Handle and restrain animals.
• Provide husbandry duties to small and large animals.
• Perform various dosing techniques with small and large animals.
• Administer test items.
• Collect biological samples.
• Perform clinical observations.
• Collect and review data in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures.
• Organize study-related activities and data.
• Maintain the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines) OR
• Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus 6 months or more of experience in clinical support, laboratory animal care, or assisting veterinary or research staff in a regulated laboratory or research environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals).
• AALAS Certification.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:30 am–3:15 pm CST. Some weekends required.

Pay

$23/hour. After the initial training period (based on performance), a $0.50 increase.
