About the role
The Wong lab in the Departments of Human Genetics and Pediatrics at Emory University is seeking a Research Specialist to join their neuropharmacogenetics laboratory. The position is a one-year commitment with potential for renewal.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of defined research and laboratory tests and experiments according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules.
- Sets up experiments as prescribed by a principal investigator.
- Maintains records, files and logs of work performed in laboratory notebooks and computer databases.
- Compiles data and records results of studies for publications, grants and seminar presentations.
- Maintains the mouse colony and conducts laboratory experiments, including studies on seizure susceptibility and behavior assessments in mouse models.
- Performs related responsibilities as required by principal investigator.
Requirements
- Prior wet lab research experience.
- Prior mouse handling skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- At least 1 year wet lab research experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
