Grant-funded, full-time position based at the Jackson Medical Mall.

About the role

Coordinate and conduct research projects, including recruitment, data collection, and retention of research participants in accordance with established study protocols and FDA/research guidelines. Ensure adherence to applicable policies, procedures, standards, and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of research protocols within established parameters.
  • Recruit, enroll, and retain eligible research participants, ensuring required documentation is collected and processed.
  • Provide basic study background and education to participants.
  • Oversee and conduct daily research activities and procedures, ensuring adequate care and respect for participants.
  • Input data and maintain records needed for research.
  • Distribute research information to faculty, research staff, investigators, and others as requested.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with established research protocols, clinical procedures, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with all members of the research team to assure quality data collection and reporting in accordance with study protocols and research standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and procedures of clinical, population/health services, and/or translational research.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Ability to prepare and process data and biological/environmental samples using established protocols.
  • Ability to assure integrity of research study records.

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise levels, heat, cold, and biohazardous conditions (e.g., risk of radiation exposure, bloodborne pathogens, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals).
  • Frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment.
  • Occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, including occasional travel to offsite locations.
  • Occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature.
  • Constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
  • Frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, frequent crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, frequent pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking.

Schedule

  • Full time, day shift.
  • 100% FTE.
