Summary Qualitative Research Specialist II The Qualitative Research Specialist II provides support to investigators and research teams conducting qualitative research studies. Duties include assisting with qualitative data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination activities under the direction of senior PRISM staff. Responsibilities Include Assists with the development and refinement of qualitative data collection tools (e.g., interview and focus group guides). Conducts semi-structured interviews and focus groups, in person or using virtual platforms. Codes, organizes, and assists with the analysis and interpretation of qualitative data. Contributes to abstracts, manuscripts, reports, and presentations. Prepares, reviews, and quality-checks transcripts generated through software-assisted transcription methods or manual transcription. Tracks effort and time spent performing core-related duties in the shared resources billing system. Completes other duties as assigned. Works closely with PRISM Core Staff Scientist and team members. The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate Background in social and behavioral sciences with knowledge in qualitative research methodsAbility to support researchers in conducting qualitative data collection and analysisFamiliarity with software applications used for qualitative analysis.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with investigators, faculty, staff, and core facility team members.Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Experience in an academic environment preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be considered.Experience in a customer-oriented core facility is desired.Demonstrates willingness to learn new procedures, technologies, and research methods under the direction of senior staff. Minimum Credentials And Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Psychology, or a related social or behavioral science field with at least three years of relevant experience and at least one year of experience using qualitative research software.Research experience preferred. Annual Human Subjects Protection Training (i.e., CITI) is required. Preferred A Master's degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Psychology, or a related social or behavioral science field with at least one year of relevant experience. Salary Range $25.43 - $41.74 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
