Responsibilities
- Coincording brain tissue requests
- Performing brain dissections and collecting brain samples
- Cutting and staining brain tissue for immunohistochemical analyses
- Aiding with incoming/outgoing material transfer requests
- Overseeing a larger organizational project to process large volume of incoming cases
- Collaborating with the Brain Bank team
- Assisting with manuscript preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or a related field
- Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience
- Proficient with MS office applications, database systems, and PubMed
- Excellent English communication skills both oral and written
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information
Special Requirements
- Occasional travel between Boston University School of Medicine and the VA Healthcare Systems (Jamaica Plain and Bedford)
- Occasional rotating weekend on-call/beeper coverage on an as needed basis
- Handling human biological specimens
- Relevant biosafety training and vaccination compliance per institutional policy
