Research Specialist, Boca Raton (temp-to-hire)

About the role
SGC is looking to add a Research Specialist to their team. Research Specialists physically review, identify, and classify sports and non-sports cards into the SGC specification database. You’ll report to the Research Supervisor and work out of our Boca Raton, FL office.
Responsibilities
- Identify sports cards and associated varieties (baseball, football, and all other major sports card releases)
- Identify non-sports cards (vintage cards such as R145 Gum, Inc. Superman to Wacky Packs to modern releases like Pokémon and Yu-gi-oh)
- Research by means of trade magazines, books, and internet
- Communicate effectively with other divisions
- Communicate with manufacturers such as Topps, Upper Deck & Panini
- Communicate with customer service
Requirements
- Firsthand knowledge of trading cards and other sports collectibles
- Strong research and cataloging skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Knowledge of Google Suite tools including: Google Sheets, Gmail, Google Drive
Pay
The reasonable estimated hourly rate for this position is $17. Actual compensation varies based on location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
