About the role
The Brain Imaging Lab at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Specialist to coordinate research imaging protocols, recruit and screen potential research subjects with alcohol or substance use disorders, and conduct clinical interviews.
Responsibilities
- Recruits research subjects and conducts interviews and research assessments
- Adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols
- Carries substance use disorder participants through a follow-up protocol using contingency management strategy to encourage abstinence
- Maintains tracking and data files (both physical and digital)
- Ensures studies are conducted as outlined in the protocol
- Conducts clinical interviews on all participants (notably, but not limited to, those afflicted with psychiatric, addictive and trauma disorders)
- Performs other research-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree

- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
