Research Scientist Intern (Trust and Safety - CV/NLP/Multimodal LLM) - 2027 Start (PhD)

About the role

Join our algorithm team as a PhD intern and contribute to developing state-of-the-art computer vision, NLP, and multimodality models. Your work will help protect our platform and users by identifying content and behaviors that violate community guidelines and regulations, ensuring TikTok provides the best user experience and brings joy to users worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop computer vision or multimodality models to recognize violating content on TikTok.
• Explore cutting-edge multimodal or computer vision large models (e.g., CLIP, COCA, ALBEF, BLIP, Flamingo, ViT-G, ViT-22B, EVA-enormous).
• Explore the application of large language models (LLM) in business scenarios, such as pre-training, zero-shot/few-shot learning, and hard case mining.
• Continuously optimize the training framework to better adapt to the training of large models.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• PhD candidate in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• Research experience in at least one of the following areas: computer vision, multimodality, or large language models (LLM).
• Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, logical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Published papers in top AI conferences or journals (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, TPAMI, IJCV) is a plus.

Pay

The hourly rate for this internship position is $60.
