Research Scientist I - Obstetrics and Gynecology
About the role
The Chen Lab at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is co-leading a multi-million-dollar research program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense to develop next-generation vaccines and immune countermeasures. This position involves working with unique human immunology platforms and extensive collaborations with various experts.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex research procedures.
- Develop and perform routine and complex protocols for research programs.
- Career development and training of laboratory personnel.
- Assist in determining study design and performing statistical analyses.
- Develop new methodologies for lab procedures.
- Maintain supplies, negotiate with vendors, track purchase orders.
- Participate in meetings with principle investigator and research staff.
- Evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, evaluate lab procedures.
Requirements
- PhD in a scientific field.
- Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.
- Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
