Radiance is seeking a Research Scientist to advance Machine Learning (ML)‑based Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) techniques and algorithms using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data. The candidate will support RF sensor data analysis by developing and improving methods for ATR of targets within sensor‑collected data, as well as modeling and simulation capabilities that enable physics‑based signature estimation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop signal‑processing and ML techniques to solve complex SAR ATR sensing challenges.
- Perform R&D on remotely sensed data, including ATR and development of Near Real‑Time (NRT) algorithms.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and deploy capabilities for prototype NRT systems.
- Provide input to analysis reports and briefings on algorithm enhancements and tool development.
Skills
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, MATLAB, C/C++.
- Experience and understanding of RF signature, ATR, and ML phenomenologies specific to remote‑sensing applications.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Required: Active Secret Clearance.
- BS in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Desired: Active Top Secret Clearance.
- MS in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Thorough understanding of working in an R&D and data‑analysis environment.
- Understanding of SAR image formation.
- Working knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art ML techniques for performing SAR ATR.
Benefits
- Employee ownership.
- Generous 401(k) plan.
- Full health, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
- Educational reimbursement.
