Job Purpose
To conduct genotyping analysis of genetically modified mouse lines housed in our breeding facility.
Project-based support
- Support the initial genetic characterization of newly generated and breeding mouse lines.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and optimization of new methods for genetic characterization.
Operational and Logistics Experience
- Experience with laboratory ordering processes and logistics, including procurement of consumables through e-Shop or comparable systems.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (e.g., Genetics, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline) with 1–2 years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience.
- Molecular Biology Expertise: Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing PCR-based assays for accurate and unambiguous determination of mouse genotypes.
- Hands-on experience with qPCR methodologies (SYBR Green, TaqMan, and/or ddPCR); familiarity with NGS library preparation is an advantage.
- Solid working knowledge of mouse model systems, transgene structures, and genetic strategies (e.g., inducible knockout models), as well as Mendelian genetics.
- Foundational understanding of transgenic and knockout mouse generation processes to support genetic characterization of newly generated or imported lines.
Desirable Skills
- Innovation: Demonstrates a willingness to stay current with scientific and technological developments and actively challenges existing processes to achieve high-quality results.
- Quality: Shows a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes, with the ability to remain focused and precise during repetitive tasks.
