Research Scientist

About the Role

Assists in experimental studies in the lab relating to specific research projects and carries out clinical and research activities as directed.

Responsibilities

• Performs research and/or development work under the guidance of an investigator, associate investigator, or assistant investigator.
• Responsible for the collection, analysis, and interpretation of research data related to specific projects.
• Submits manuscripts and abstracts for publication and presentation.
• Performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to correspondence, attending meetings, database maintenance, and maintaining records and charts.
• Plans and executes department programs, including scheduling, cost analysis, and communication between departments, committees, and leaders to ensure effective and efficient management of projects.
• Handles submission and management of grant program projects.
• Develops budgets and manages departmental funding.
• Operates under general guidance; work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.
• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Philosophy.
• Experience with grant submission and management.
• Experience with research budget development and management.
• Personnel management and team-building skills.
