Research Project Manager

About the role

Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications.

Responsibilities

• Leads operational aspects for several research projects within the Schmitz Lab.
• Coordinates research activities involving multiple sites.
• Develops and maintains connections with study team members, principal investigators, clinicians, research participants, IRB members, and clinical staff.
• Uses Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines to develop techniques and procedures that promote efficient completion of complex research projects and tasks.
• Manages project budgets.
• Oversees the work of interns and junior study staff.
• Uses national and institutional research policies to recruit subjects.
• Obtains informed consent.
• Schedules study-related appointments.
• Collects and coordinates study data.
• Troubleshoots issues that occur before, during, and after patient visits.
• Manages regulatory documents.
• Analyzes data.
• Assists with the preparation and submission of grant applications and scientific manuscripts.
• Coordinates study activities across multiple research sites.

Essential Functions

• Primarily sedentary. May be required to stand for extended periods of time at lab bench.
• Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Work Arrangement

On-Campus: Teams that work on campus, in an office, or in a lab.
