This senior-level position performs post-award research administration within the Public Health and Law Research Support Team (PH&L RST). The RST provides a supportive environment for individuals seeking mastery in research administration, with opportunities for growth and professional development. The role is currently full remote.

Research Program Managers (RPMs) are expected to choose two specific areas to become subject matter experts for the benefit of the RST (e.g., NIH grants, Foundation regulations, subrecipients, labor and effort, training). The duties include working closely with faculty to oversee their portfolios, managing complex finance and compliance tasks, and maintaining operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Initiation and review of requisitions for purchase orders
  • Oversight of subrecipients
  • Reviewing payroll distributions
  • Reviewing payment of service agreements and invoices
  • Reviewing P-Card expenditure reports
  • Monitoring award spending in compliance with GW and sponsor’s terms and conditions
  • Designing spreadsheets and budgets for tracking expenditures
  • Conducting regular meetings to strategize and reconcile award funds
  • Outreach to other GW stakeholders to maintain standard operational efficiencies
  • Participation in RST and University research-related meetings/committees
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 5 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field plus 3 years of professional experience
  • Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute degree requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong financial capacity
  • Basic understanding of scientific research
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of accounting or economics
  • Ability to monitor and manage multiple needs simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Excel and tracking information

Pay

$74,041.08 - $101,731.95

Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
