Research Program Coordinator
About the Role
ACPWB's Strategic Research practice is adding a Research Program Coordinator to support data collection and program administration operations for a team of 5 that is expanding faster than its current coordination infrastructure. You will design and own client scheduling and calendar coordination, work closely with the practice operations, and have a direct impact on how effectively the firm operates at the practice level.
The Research Program Coordinator role in Strategic Research is an opportunity to become deeply embedded in how ACPWB's practice operations operates — learning the business from the inside while contributing meaningfully to how it runs. You will take ownership of client scheduling and calendar coordination and develop a working knowledge of data collection and program administration that makes you a more effective coordinator over time.
The Research Program Coordinator will be the operational backbone of ACPWB's Strategic Research team of 5. Your job is to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks: that client scheduling and calendar coordination is handled well, that the practice operations stays organized, and that the people doing the analytical and advisory work can trust that the logistics are covered. We are looking for someone who finds that role satisfying.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate inventory of team resources, subscriptions, and vendor contracts
- Support senior staff by handling administrative and operational tasks that free time for client-facing work
- Support client communication logistics including preparation of contact lists, mailing distributions, and scheduling
- Prepare meeting agendas, capture action items, and distribute follow-up documentation to stakeholders
- Manage the Strategic Research team's intranet presence including updating directories and resource libraries
- Assist with event logistics including team offsites, client visits, and conference participation
- Provide coverage and cross-training support to ensure operational continuity during team absences
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across departments and levels
- Experience with project management or task-tracking tools (Asana, Monday.com, Trello, or equivalent)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive organizational information
- Experience supporting senior professionals or managing operations for a team of 2 or more
- Familiarity with expense reporting systems and basic budget tracking
- Ability to manage vendor relationships including communication, issue resolution, and contract tracking
Preferred
- Experience supporting external communications or client-facing correspondence
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, PMP, or similar)
- Background in or exposure to compensation, HR, or workforce research environments
Why ACPWB
ACPWB was not designed to be the largest firm in our space. It was designed to be the most credible one. That decision shapes everything — how we staff, what work we take, how we train our team, and how we respond when a client asks us to reach a conclusion we cannot intellectually support. ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.
Interview Process
Our process is intentionally streamlined: one phone screen, one comprehensive interview, one reference check, one offer. We aim to complete the process within 14 to 21 days of initial contact. We have found that additional rounds do not improve our predictive accuracy and do consume your time, which we respect.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- Establish clear communication rhythms with the practice operations to proactively flag issues before they become problems
- Master all operational systems and tools used by the Strategic Research team
- Take full ownership of client scheduling and calendar coordination and execute it reliably without requiring regular check-ins from management
