Research Professional I (Extended Temporary)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and/or field experiments following established protocols and research plans.
• Collect, process, and analyze research data using standard analytical and computational methods.
• Aid in developing and implementing research methodologies under supervision.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, and results.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and shared research instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, university policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Assist in managing lab inventory, supplies, and procurement of materials.
• Train students and users on proper equipment operation and laboratory techniques.
• Support day-to-day lab operations to ensure efficient and safe research environment.
• Aid in the preparation and development of grant proposals by compiling preliminary data, supporting figure creation, and contributing to draft technical sections under the guidance of the principal investigator or senior research staff.
• Support the development of research narratives, literature reviews, and methodology descriptions by gathering and organizing information for funding applications.
• Coordinate proposal documentation by organizing materials, tracking timelines, and ensuring completeness of submission components in collaboration with the research team.
• Conduct basic searches for funding opportunities and share relevant information with senior researchers to support alignment with project goals.
• Aid in the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations to communicate and disseminate research findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
• One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
