About The Job
This position is based out of Minneapolis, MN and is eligible for hybrid work from home and/or on campus work dependent upon individual performance and organizational need, though some regular on-site work will be expected. Because the University of Minnesota is a land-grant institution that serves the state, residing in Minnesota is typically required.
Responsibilities
- Project Management and Communication (10%): Facilitate communication with study sites and with funding agencies.
- Participant Recruitment and Enrollment (40%): Coordinate with clinical research staff and physicians identification of potential study participants. Educate and consent individuals who qualify for the project. Work with research physicians to obtain study samples.
- Data Collection, Management and Monitoring (40%): Conduct clinical assessments and documentation, biopsy acquisition, and coordination of study goals with partners including gastroenterology, pharmacy, genomics center, and collaborators at Hormel Research Institute. Conduct pre-test assessments after participants have consented. Conduct post-test assessments 25-30 weeks after the initial assessment. Implement and enforce protocols to protect confidentiality of Human Subject data. Maintain and update the databases and monitor to ensure data integrity and quality. Perform quality checks on data and monitor all processes.
- Study Regulatory Requirements (5%): Assure that all IRB and other pertinent UMN systems are adhered to including training requirements and record keeping. Assist in writing the IRB continuing review, and ongoing reporting documents, as required.
- Project Dissemination (5%): Work with investigators to manage timely completion of project milestones during development and management of the project. Draft sponsor reports to detail updated activity and sponsor required elements.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and experience and relevant work experience to equal four years.
- Relevant and direct experience in clinical research to include working with the IRB, data management and following clinical research Standard Operating Procedures, the Code of Federal Regulations for clinical trials and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
- Possess excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Work independently in a complex and changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with research databases, RedCAP, OnCore
- Experience reading and interpreting the scientific literature.
- Previous experience with Dermatology
- Experience in translational research including lab wet bench work.
- Possessing excellent writing skills

Pay And Benefits
- Pay Range: $23.84-$26.80 per hour, we anticipate most offers will be around the midpoint of this range, depending on education and experience.
- Time Appointment: 50% Appointment (20 hours per week)
