Evaluations, Interprets, and Coordinates
Participates in committees and projects to support research initiatives.
- Provides education on human participant protection.
- Reviews research protocols to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Completes Pharmacy assessment resource utilization for research studies.
- Prepares medication fact sheets for inclusion in the research manual.
- Prepares drug information sheets for study coordinators.
- Manages enrollment, randomization, blinding, logging, preparation, dispensing, delivery, accounting, and storage of investigational drugs.
- Manages sterile and non-sterile compounds in a clean room environment.
- Participates in initiation visits, audits, and closeouts for research studies.
- Travels to start-up meetings when appropriate to support research activities.
- Tracks Pharmacy dispensing of research medication to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to evaluate, interpret and coordinate information relating to drug research studies [Required]
- Ability to work independently or with a team [Required]
- Ability to work under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and manage competing priorities [Required]
- Self-motivated; ability to coordinate multiple data management goals for various research projects [Required]
- Ability to solve complex problems, communicate effectively, and analyze systems [Required]
- Knowledge of biomedical/translational research [Preferred]
- Deep understanding of USP 797, FDA guidelines, industry sponsored research procedures, and good manufacturing practices (GMP). [Preferred]
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics. (This level of knowledge is usually characterized by at least one year of experience in a specialized clinical area or advanced training/certification [such as oncology, pharmacotherapy, etc. provided by the Board of Pharmacy Specialities (BPS), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) etc.]) [Preferred]
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's graduate of a school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS Pharmacy [Required]
- Doctorate pharm. d degree [Preferred]
- Field Of Study Graduate of a school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS Pharmacy Pharm. D degree [Required]
- Experience in a specific area of pharmacy practice may be required depending upon research responsibilities (e.g., IV admixture and non-sterile to sterile product preparation) [Required]
