Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the Lab Director to perform clinical and administrative tasks for various research projects as assigned.
  • Collect research data as outlined in protocol.
  • Recruit study participants, schedule and perform study visits for data collection.
  • Explain research study purpose and assure completeness and accuracy of information obtained.
  • Explain the study to the participants and obtain written consent for participation.
  • Perform clinically indicated procedures on research subjects in accordance with skills including blood draws, blood pressures, exercise tests, and obtaining medical histories.
  • Prepare participants’ charts and assist with the physical examinations.
  • Consult the investigator or physician regarding risks or further details.
  • Maintain patients’ compliance with protocol interventions including prescribed medication and diet.
  • Answer patients’ questions and reinforce physician’s orders.
  • Collaborate with the nursing staff of the IEEM to develop and execute IEEM specific nursing policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • Two years of ICU/CCU, Emergency Department experience strongly preferred
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
  • Professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs, works well with teammates, and communicates effectively
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Able to easily learn and use web-based software applications for data collection/data entry

Qualifications
