Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the Lab Director to perform clinical and administrative tasks for various research projects as assigned.
- Collect research data as outlined in protocol.
- Recruit study participants, schedule and perform study visits for data collection.
- Explain research study purpose and assure completeness and accuracy of information obtained.
- Explain the study to the participants and obtain written consent for participation.
- Perform clinically indicated procedures on research subjects in accordance with skills including blood draws, blood pressures, exercise tests, and obtaining medical histories.
- Prepare participants’ charts and assist with the physical examinations.
- Consult the investigator or physician regarding risks or further details.
- Maintain patients’ compliance with protocol interventions including prescribed medication and diet.
- Answer patients’ questions and reinforce physician’s orders.
- Collaborate with the nursing staff of the IEEM to develop and execute IEEM specific nursing policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- BSN preferred
- Two years of ICU/CCU, Emergency Department experience strongly preferred
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
- Professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs, works well with teammates, and communicates effectively
- Strong Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Able to easily learn and use web-based software applications for data collection/data entry
Qualifications
