Research Manager - Southern US

Responsibilities
- Lead research projects in the U.S. Mid-South and South regions.
- Produce exemplary research and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Manage 30-60 client projects, including defining scope, budget, and resources.
- Ensure project deliverables meet company and client standards.
- Maintain an average of 5.5 billable hours per day and meet annual billable hours requirement.
- Give and receive feedback effectively, coach research staff, and escalate issues.
- Collaborate with client relationship managers and researchers.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience with professional genealogical research.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in History, English, or a related field.
- Experience in general U.S. research with a specialty in the mid-south and southern states.
- Advanced expertise in brick wall research methodologies and evidence analysis.
- Proficiency in DNA test results and their application to genealogical research.
- Experience managing multiple projects at the same time.
- Experience with research journals/logs, citations, record abstracts, and narrative academic research reports.
- Effective communication skills, including setting expectations and resolving issues with clients.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment and providing feedback and coaching to team members.

Benefits

Schedule
Flexibility is key, with occasional company meetings and kickoff calls with clients. Availability during business hours is required for communication with staff. Time management is crucial to meeting weekly, monthly, and annual billable targets.
