About The Role
As Research Lead, you will be the head of Iliad’s AI alignment research team. This will include setting Iliad's research direction, managing and mentoring the team of researchers, and ensuring Iliad's research output is rigorous, ambitious, and at the frontier of AI alignment.
Requirements
- Established research track record in foundational AI alignment, mathematics, or a closely related field
- Experience managing or mentoring researchers
- Strong vision for what rigorous, high-impact alignment research looks like
- Ability to set and communicate a coherent research agenda across a team
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving organization where priorities shift
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to events in the US and UK
- Comfort working with distributed teams and working remotely

Pay
$80,000–$150,000. We’re open to paying beyond this range for exceptional candidates.
