Research Laboratory Technician II
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our research team in the Creighton University Department of Physical Therapy. This role supports an integrated clinical and research center focused on keeping people active in adulthood and later adulthood, with a particular emphasis on enhancing physical activity in rural communities.
About the role
The research technician will help coordinate funded studies investigating:
- Velocity feedback for individuals with sarcopenia
- Assessment of physical activity patterns of adults within acute care
- Feasibility and efficacy of a walking program for Veterans with mild cognitive impairment and their care partners
This is a grant-funded and school-funded position beginning August 17, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with annual renewals dependent on performance and funding. The position will end once grant and allocated school funds are exhausted.
Responsibilities
- 40% Research project management: supporting recruitment, participant scheduling, oversight of student workers, and communication
- 30% Data collection: assisting with on-site data collection in Omaha, Nebraska, and surrounding areas
- 30% Data processing and analysis: handling data and assisting with dissemination activities (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts)
- Assisting with other ongoing lab activities
Schedule is generally Monday–Friday but may require some evening, weekend, and holiday work. More than 50% of the role is on campus, with most job-related activities completed in person.
Requirements
- Completed bachelor’s degree (required)
- Previous experience in human subjects research (preferred)
