About the role

This position serves as a subject matter expert in billing and contractual research compliance, collaborating with Renown Health departments, academic relationships, and community partners throughout the study lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains research budgets in accordance with coverage analysis and ensures compliance with sponsor and patient/insurance billing.
  • Performs budget negotiations and ensures compliance and accountability to sponsors and patients.
  • Reviews and recommends adjustments to budgeting and processes to align with industry standards and trends.
  • Manages financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation of research-related contracts within the clinical trials management system.
  • Coordinates with study coordinators and demonstrates familiarity with basic science and medical disciplines, along with fundamental knowledge of hospital and research functions.
  • Maintains high standards for confidentiality and professionalism regarding patient privacy and sponsor protocol agreements.
  • Supports billing audits and queries internally and externally, assisting with their resolution.

Requirements

  • Reports to Department leadership and focuses on Renown's research study and research award stakeholders.
  • Requires a substantial working knowledge of institutional requirements aligned with federal regulations in financial compliance and reporting for research efforts.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related field, with clinical or scientific exposure and education preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in an analytical background with exposure to financial analysis is preferred.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the research life cycle.

  • Flexibility to adapt to various content and stakeholder needs.
