About the role
Serve as Senior Technical Advisor to the Head, MSAT Synthetic Molecules and the Takeda Synthetic Molecules manufacturing network, and recognized as Takeda's thought leader in all aspects of synthetic molecules manufacturing, including synthetic API, OSD and Sterile DP manufacturing.
Define and drive the long-term technical vision
Define and drive the long-term technical vision for Synthetic Molecules manufacturing through advanced process development, scale-up strategies, and identification of transformative, disruptive next-generation manufacturing technologies.
Position Takeda ahead of competitors
- Build and leverage external networks across industry and academia, conducting competitive intelligence assessments, and performing due diligence on new technologies and potential partnerships or acquisitions.
Contribute to Takeda
- Serve as Senior Technical Advisor to the Head, MSAT Synthetic Molecules and the entire Takeda Synthetic Molecules manufacturing network on all aspects of synthetic molecules manufacturing science and process technology.
- Lead the development and implementation of Synthetic Molecules manufacturing solutions to optimize manufacturing operations, ensuring improved productivity, yield, and cost-efficiency throughout the network.
- Drive innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Global Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing, by identifying, prioritizing, and advancing transformative, disruptive technologies specific to Synthetic Molecules, providing deep technical input to MSAT innovation roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (PhD Preferred)
- 20+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with 15+ years in management and synthetic molecules manufacturing industry experience
- Self-motivated, good interpersonal and communication skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as, project management tools
- Well versed in the manufacturing technology for the following Synthetic Molecules, API, Solid Oral Drug Product and Sterile Product manufacturing
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Agile, Lean, DMAIC…) or a Belt certification would be a benefit
- Fluent in English is a must, additional languages (French, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese) a benefit

For Location: Boston, MA U.S. Base Salary Range : $177,000.00 - $278,080.00 The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
