About The Position We’re hiring a Research Fellow who will play an essential role in supporting the work of our growing social media and video teams. The Research Fellow will help us to maintain a constant flow of highly engaging, newsy social media content that informs and inspires our audience. They must have a strong background in conducting fact-checking and original research and care deeply about reporting news that impacts working people through social media and video journalism. Core Responsibilities Conduct original research and reporting to be used in compelling and informative vertical videos and other social media content; Monitor legislative hearings, press conferences, public forums, earnings calls and more, file records requests, and maintain tracking spreadsheets; Identify emerging news and trending topics from both traditional news sources as well as social media; Fact-check social media content such as video scripts and Instagram carousels; Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet expected deadlines;Maintain high standard of work in a nimble, fast paced environment;Perform other duties as assigned. Experience/Qualifications Professional experience fact-checking and conducting research, preferably as part of a newsroom;Passion for, and substantial knowledge of, national politics and economic justice issues;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Proficiency in social media platforms including Twitter/X with a strong understanding of current trends;Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a social media team;Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of following directions and meeting tight deadlines;Available full-time hours and able to excel in a remote/work-from-home environment. The Pay Range For This Role Is 25 - 25 USD per hour(remote)
