Within an R&D internship, you’ll be actively involved in creating, reimagining, and launching new innovations that improve our consumers' lives worldwide. Responsibilities
Our Associate Scientist Interns are constantly learning and growing to improve how our products perform. In this role, you will:
- Find new ways to innovate, develop, and manufacture consumer products.
- Work collaboratively with some of the best and brightest technical and commercial partners.
Potential areas of focus include:
- Products Research: Deeply understand consumer needs to inform product design parameters for new or improved products.
- Product Formulation & Design: Translate consumer needs into the development of delightful finished products using the best available technologies, chemicals, and materials.
- Packaging & Device Development: Create and improve packages and devices that delight consumers and retailers, ensuring superior function, premium design, and sustainability.
- Process Development & Pilot Plant Operations: Translate ideas, concepts, and technologies into the design and scale-up of commercially feasible, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.
- Material Development: Develop 'new to the world' raw material technologies to meet customer needs with the highest quality, best-performing materials.
- Modeling and Simulation (M&S): Develop new mathematical models to speed the pace and impact of innovations across all R&D functions.
- Data Science: Communicate complex data or algorithms into simple conclusions to empower better decision-making through advanced analytics.
Qualifications
- Open to Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors pursuing a BS or MS in engineering, life or physical science fields such as Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical and Measurement Science, Microbiology, Packaging Science, Psychology, or related fields.
- Roles available for Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering fields.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and active listening abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Must be available for 12 weeks during the summer of 2027 (mid/late May through early August).
Positions are located in Boston and Cincinnati.

Pay
Compensation ranges from $29.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on factors such as office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of experience.
Schedule
Full-time internship for 12 weeks during the summer of 2027 (mid/late May through early August).
