Research Data Associate
Position Summary
Odyssey is seeking a Research Data Associate to design, develop, and implement web-based applications supporting data management for clinical investigations related to the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBI CoE). The role involves ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards, interacting with TBI stakeholders, and documenting business needs.
Responsibilities
- Develops, codes, deploys, and maintains web applications and websites.
- Provides application development and technical support for customer websites.
- Prepares functional specifications and designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs.
- Evaluates and recommends DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
- Designs, maintains, and updates complex web-based forms using JavaScript/HTML.
- Interacts with stakeholders to elicit and document business needs for modifying existing or creating new forms.
- Plans and coordinates security measures, data integrity, backup systems, and database security.
- Maintains data for entry into FITBIR (or other relevant databases).
- Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures, maintaining user documentation.
- Manages change requests in alignment with mission and stakeholder requirements.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or software engineering required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in .NET, HTML, JavaScript, C#, and SQL development preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of web software development principles, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to follow general instructions, self-motivated, excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Oracle and PLSQL, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server projects.
- Problem-solving skills and adherence to confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to handle patients who may be confused, agitated, or abusive.
- Availability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally.
- Flexibility to work late afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
